The PATools File Lister is an add-in for Microsoft® Excel® software which creates a new workbook containing a list of all files and/or folders in a location you specify, optionally including subfolders, and including zip file contents listed separately if you wish. You can sort your list, filter it, save it, export it, print it, use it to copy/move/rename/delete using the included PATools File Manager, or use any other Microsoft Excel feature to analyse it.

The list includes the file name, type, size, date last modified, a hyperlink to the file, it's full path and more. It also includes a UniqueFileID which can be used to show apparent duplicate files - these are marked so as to help find identical copies of files stored in multiple locations, perhaps to help you clean up disk space.

Once you have your data in Microsoft Excel you can even run multiple listings and copy and paste them into one worksheet to find more duplicates etc (we recommend the PATools Data Toolkit to help work with duplicates).

In Microsoft Excel 2000 and later there is also summary pivot table created plus two graphs to help show a breakdown of disk space by file type, location, number of files, etc. These can be edited and adjusted to show whatever you wish from the original data, or you can add your own pivot tables and graphs.

Additional information is also shown where possible for common image files such as the dimensions, and for jpeg/jpg files the date the picture was taken and camera model.

For new users, the software will run on an evaluation basis, which means that you can use it for as long as you wish but it will list only approximately 100 files / folders.
